This is sometimes known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Value or Employer Supported Volunteering. Volunteering individually or as a team can be a great way to support your local community and give your employees a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Many businesses share their time and skills with a charity through a team away day or team building experience with colleagues.

At Second Nature Community Trust, we aim to clean up areas that are to be used by the community including play areas, community spaces and community gardens. We regularly engage in litter picking in and around the local area.
We regularly run clean up days around North Kirklees areas. These days are suitable for both individuals and work teams that want to make a difference in the local community by undertaking some practical/ outdoors volunteering.
Our next planned clean up days will take place at the grounds of St Mary's Church, Spen Lane, Cleckheaton, BD19 4LS.
Tasks include:
- The clean up of graves
- Tidying and clearing the flower beds and tree lines
- Clearing the pathways
- Pruning the bushes
All equipment will be provided by the trust.
Times are flexible across the planned dates:
- Tuesday 25th August
- Wednesday 26th August
- Thursday 27th August
- Friday 28th August
- Saturday 29th August
- Sunday 30th August
- Monday 31st August
- Tuesday 1st September
You can commit to as little or as many days as you can give.
Hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be provided by the church.
Second nature community trust
Travel expenses will be considered for this role, e.g. the cost of a bus ticket for travel to/ from the church.
