Many businesses offer their employees an opportunity to volunteer in work time.
This is sometimes known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Value or Employer Supported Volunteering. Volunteering individually or as a team can be a great way to support your local community and give your employees a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Many businesses share their time and skills with a charity through a team away day or team building experience with colleagues.
You can view and register your interest in a Team Volunteering opportunity below:

Oxfam’s Online Shop is based The Northern Logistics Centre, Batley, a warehouse which houses both Oxfam’s Online and Festival Shop operations, as well as, a textile sorting plant, and transport and distribution offices. The Oxfam Northern Logistics Centre uses donated clothing and textiles to raise vital funds to help Oxfam fight for a fairer world without poverty! We are the only charity in the UK to have our own sorting plant, meaning no Oxfam donation goes to landfill!
All our volunteering roles are based within the Online Shop, which launched in 2007. We were the first online charity shop in the UK and remain the largest to this day, showcasing a broad range of fabulous textile donations to a worldwide audience; from high-end to high-street, vintage to contemporary. Why not take a look? www.oxfam.org.uk/shop
Your team will start the day with coffee and a chat about the work that Oxfam does, plus a tour of the Oxfam Northern Logistics Centre, including Wastesaver, Oxfam's national recycling hub.
Activities
As an online shop we have a variety of activities from photography and listing to garment care and dispatching orders. You will also experience behind the scenes with the festival shops team helping them set up for their latest event.
Timings
The day runs from 9am - 3pm. Although, we are flexible on finish times to account for school
runs etc. Please let us know if anyone needs to arrive/leave early.
Location : Oxfam Northern Logistics Centre, Batley, WF17 6RA
There is plenty of free parking to the front of the building. Batley train station is a 15 minute
walk away.
Refreshments & Food
We will provide simple refreshments; tea, coffee & biscuits etc. Please ask your teams to bring a packed lunch with them.
Access Requirements & Health and Safety
We are fully disabled access friendly; if you could please advise us of any access needs before your volunteering day, we are happy to ensure tasks are appropriate for the group. We are a partly industrial site so please do wear closed toe shoes (no sandals!) Some of the tasks involved may be physical, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and in winter months bring a warm jumper!
Donating & Shopping
You are very welcome to bring any donations with you. There is also an opportunity to browse and shop the 1000's of items we have for sale (we accept cash and card).
