Many businesses offer their employees an opportunity to volunteer in work time.
This is sometimes known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Value or Employer Supported Volunteering. Volunteering individually or as a team can be a great way to support your local community and give your employees a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Many businesses share their time and skills with a charity through a team away day or team building experience with colleagues.

We’re one of the largest food banks in the north of England.
We help local families and individuals in crisis with food, toiletries, and other essential items. We also provide advice, guidance, and support to address underlying issues.
We can accommodate a group of up to 6 people volunteering for a day in our food bank warehouse. This is a great opportunity for employees to give back to their community within work time and get a clear understanding of the work of the food bank. Our Stores volunteers are responsible for sorting through dried goods and fresh produce to put together crisis packs of food, toiletries, and other essential items for our clients. These packs are tailored to meet individual needs. Additional duties include sorting and decanting food. This role is based at our warehouse at Queens Mill Industrial Estate, Lockwood. You can also support us by donating items on our shortage list. https://www.thewelcomecentre.org/pages/donatefood
