Join us for our first TSL Safeguarding Network aimed at safeguarding leads in the third sector (including Trustees/Board members).

This lunchtime session will be delivered via Zoom. Feel free to bring a cuppa and a sandwich as we discuss the following:

12.30 – 12.40pm: Welcome and national/local safeguarding updates – Becky Bracey, Safeguarding lead at TSL Kirklees

12.40 – 1.10pm: Guest Speaker Paula Adams, Head of Safeguarding at Locala CiC .

Paula will explain the Locala journey; from a difficult CQC inspection in 2016 which raised safeguarding issues, to receiving the Leaders in Safeguarding Award in 2021.

Paula will share some hints and tips on embedding safeguarding in your organisation, involving your board/trustees and offering learning and development that takes account of peoples’ different learning styles and busy workloads.

1.10pm – 1.25pm: Information sharing and support – an opportunity for attendees to share any updates or issues they are encountering in relation to safeguarding in their organisation.

1.25pm- 1.30pm : Agree next steps and future format of network meetings.

Please note: This event is organised by TSL Kirklees - a local charity that gives free support, advice and training to any charity, community group or social enterprise in Kirklees - and is only open to any workers, trustees or volunteers from third sector organisations based or working in Kirklees. Our events and services are free because, like any other charity, we rely on grants and funding. If you have booked a place and then cannot make it, please cancel your place via Eventbrite or by emailing, so that we can offer that place to someone else and so that our funding isn't wasted.
