Huddersfield Charity looks to connect and collaborate with organisations working with older people and people with a disability
In 2024, the Huddersfield and District U3A will celebrate its 40th Anniversary of offering recreational learning and leisure activities to those who are retired or semi-retired as well as those with a disability, who want to continue to lead active lives and perhaps extend their social circles during this phase of their lives.
Their groups are small and friendly, and all leaders are volunteers giving their time to pass on knowledge and expertise, as well as encouragement to participants. Groups usually meet in a range of accessible venues across Huddersfield and there is normally a small fee charged to each group member to cover those costs.
The charity would like to work more closely with Third Sector organisational partners for the benefit of the individuals and to whom they are offering services in all their forms.
