To celebrate EPIKS’s launch of Walk Wheel Ride Batley and Spen Valley - your local Active Travel Hub - we are offering free bike checks.  

A mechanic will check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears and tyre pressure to lights, racks, pedals, saddles and more. They can make any minor adjustments to the bike there and then. If there’s anything they can't fix on site, they will let you know exactly what needs doing and a rough guide to what it should cost at a bike shop. 

Please check in at the EPIKS gazebo on Market Place at least five minutes before your booked slot. A member of the team will take you across to the pop-up workshop in Brimer Hall, Batley Central Methodist Church. A service typically takes around twenty to thirty minutes.   

Please book to guarantee your Dr Bike service (1 bike per person attending). Drop-ins may also be available at the EPIKS gazebo on the day, but bookings will be prioritised. 

Walk Wheel Ride Batley and Spen Valley is working to make it simpler, safer and more accessible for everyone in the district to choose walking, wheeling and riding as part of their everyday journeys. We want to help more people choose active travel more often for their local journeys. We hope Dr Bike will give you the confidence to get back on your bike again.
