TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

We are an umbrella group for the friends of parks and green spaces groups, village community groups, walking and other well being activity groups. We provide public liability insurance free to members, the loan of tools from our tool stores at Beaumont and Wilton Park, quarterly meetings, frequent newsletters and annual small grant schemes. We are funded by Kirklees Council but remain independant. You can visit the Natural Kirklees website to find out more about what we do.
Natural Kirklees is looking to appoint a new chair over the coming months, who will receive initial support and handover from the outgoing Chair.
Time commitment = a few hours per week, or more if you would like to get involved in other elements of our work.
The role will involve working with the Parks and Green Spaces Volunteer Team and our 100 plus member groups.
Tasks will include:
-Chairing Trustee meetings, planning the agenda and the annual general meeting.
-Supporting and leading a small team of Trustees to ensure we stay on track and focus on our charitable purpose.
-Chairing and facilitating our quarterly member network meetings where we have guest speakers.
-Representing the organisation at local events and partnership meetings and acting as a spokesperson for Natural Kirklees.
We would welcome skills in leading/chairing meetings, good communication skills and understanding of confidentiality and the importance of fairness and transparency.
You may also have an interest in the natural environment and the thriving voluntary and community sector in Kirklees.
Please submit your details if you would be interested in an informal chat about the role with the current Chair.
