About the Organisation
Community Links Engagement and Recovery (CLEAR) is a recovery-focused mental health service for individuals with mental health needs including dementia. We provide a range of social, leisure and skills-based activities which aim to develop confidence, motivation and self-reliance. The service is open to anyone over 18 living within the Kirklees area who identifies themselves as having a mental health need. Support is delivered via group activities.
Do you know a Djembe from a Tabla? Are you interested in leading a Wellbeing Drum Circle to individuals aged 18+ who have mental health needs including dementia.
As a Drum Circle Volunteer you will have DRUM/Percussion skills and motivation to support clients to express themselves through music and rhythm. You will encourage clients to explore the act of drumming as a tool to improve mental health and wellbeing. You will collaborate with staff and clients to lead sessions and create one off projects.
The group can run on a weekly or fortnightly basis. During the daytime or on evenings.
The Drumming group will be based in our offices next to St Georges Square in Huddersfield with the option of outdoor events on our Allotment site.
We have the drums, we just don’t know how to play them! So we need you!
CLEAR volunteers also encourage clients to access groups within CLEAR and the local community, creating a safe space to build confidence, socialise and make new friends.
As a volunteer you will encouraging client feedback and involvement. Promoting independence and diversity.
Regular supervision to develop and progress. Access to a wide range of Mental Health training opportunities.
Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
As a CLEAR volunteer you will use our Volunteero App to claim expenses and log volunteer hours.
