We are a registered charity that co-ordinate the Volunteer Centre for Kirklees. We support a network of over 2,000 charities, community groups and social enterprises offering free training, support and advice. Every year we help match over 3,000 local residents to volunteer roles. We believe in the power of community action and volunteering.

We are looking to recruit a small team of Film and Photography Volunteers to help us collect photographs and short film reels to share the work of our network of charities, community groups and social enterprises.

In this role you will be:

• Getting in touch with a charity or group and arranging to visit them or attend their event
• Take some good quality photos or short film reels that we can use to accompany good news stories on our website, social media or for press releases.
• Edit the photographs and film to provide a short list for us to choose from.
• Ensuring you have appropriate consents (using our photo  consent forms) for those involved.

You will need to have good communication skills and photography skills and access to your own digital equipment (this could be a digital camera or phone). You will need to be committed to data protection and have a good understanding of how to engage people in photography shoots and seek appropriate consents.

Ideally you will have an interest and skill in photography and be interesting in gaining experience in a charity setting.

We will provide you with support and guidance and you will need to undertake some basic e-learning before you can start the role.

We can offer you reimbursement of your travel expenses.

The role is flexible, ideally you will be able to commit to completing one photo project per month.

Our office is in Huddersfield, but we want to collect good news stories from across Kirklees so we will assign you tasks that are in your local area.
