For families in West Yorkshire who are facing or living with the loss of their child, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice not only provides outstanding clinical care – but also a helping hand, listening ear and a place to be together to make the most of every moment. We start with what each family needs, offering them tailored support. We are always looking for new ways to support children and families and in doing so, we make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
Role Purpose:
We are looking for volunteers to help in our hospice garden, ensuring the garden looks it best all year round.
Tasks & activities:
You will be based in the garden area of the hospice, where you will take on tasks including:
- Planting a variety of shrubs and removing weeds
- Tidying up and sweeping paths
- Watering plants as required
- Clearing and renovating overgrown areas
Personal qualities & experience:
We are looking for volunteers with an interest in gardening and enjoy working outdoors. Previous experience of working in this area is not essential but would be useful.
For this role you will need to be:
- Willing to work outside
- Reliable and conscientious
- Happy get involved in lots of different gardening tasks
