Kirklees Libraries are increasing reading and literacy, improving digital access and literacy, supporting everyone to achieve their full potential, supporting everyone to live healthier and happier lives, enabling greater prosperity, building stronger more resilient communities, offering everyone access to culture and the opportunity to be creative. Volunteering opportunities are varied and include storytelling, supporting events, helping with crafts, gardening, running Lego and code clubs, admin role e.g. secretary, chair and planning rotas for Friends of groups and many more. If you want to make new friends, get out and keep active, support your community or gain new skills we have something for you.
This role is available at Mirfield Library on Saturday mornings 10-12
Inspire creativity and imagination in children and young people by running or helping to run a lego club. In the library you may be:
- making creations out of lego and helping children young people to do the same.
- publicising events to make sure as many people as possible hear about our offer
- promote the library service and encourage non-members to join
- discussing and recording the impact that the library service makes on customers’ lives.
You will enjoy working with children, young people their parents and carers. You will be creative and friendly and be able to use your imagination to create lego models.
We can only offer travel expenses for any training you need to attend.
We offer an induction and training for the role. You will have an opportunity to meet new people and gain experience for your CV.
