Creative Arts projects with an extended family of refugees and local communities in all parts of Kirklees.

We  currently need 2 or 3 new trustees who are interested in supporting creative arts projects that integrate refugees and local people in Huddersfield and North and South Kirklees. The expectation would be to attend 6 meetings a year, probably 3 online and 3 face to face (at the Watershed in Slaithwaite or at a trustee's house) and to take an active interest in the organisation, attending at least one workshop or performance; we would welcome a fuller involvement with the organisation. We are a team of professional artists and volunteers who work on up to 3 projects every year. We are working in partnership with Shared Goods, iASK, the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Holocaust Centre North and Balbir Singh Dance Company over the next twelve months. In particular we need three kinds of trustee:

A person with financial experience to be our treasurer, preparing six monthly financial reports and liaising with our accountants. Our turnover is not more than 25K a year so while this is an important job, it is not particularly onerous. This is our most urgent need - our current treasurer has been amazing but he's been doing the job for 7 years and wishes to step down.

A person with an active interest in the welfare of asylum seekers and refugees, who can support us and our participants with advice.

A person who has some fundraising experience in the area of community activities and/or the arts, and is willing to work on small and medium scale funding bids in collaboration with other trustees and volunteers. We do all our own fundraising.
