Yorkshire Regional Netball Association is one of nine member organisations of England Netball, and is run by a management board of volunteers. We represent England Netball members in Yorkshire, and work closely with England Netball staff to deliver and develop netball in Yorkshire.

We also work closely with Leeds Rhinos Netball, our member leagues, clubs, education institutions and other key stakeholders who share our commitment to delivering great netball experiences in Yorkshire.

Regional Management Board Responsibilities
Yorkshire Netball Regional Management Board members are collectively responsible for:
- Governance of netball in Yorkshire
- Working as One with Regional & Local EN staff
- Gathering and sharing regional Insight
- Communicating membership benefits
- Delivering regional competition
- Promotion & recognition of the people who make netball happen
- Working in Partnership with our Netball Superleague Franchise
- Strategic development of officiating assessment & mentoring
- Community communication
- Ensuring netball in Yorkshire is inclusive to everyone
What The Role Involves
Volunteering Working Group members are responsible for:
- Leading on the development of volunteering opportunities in netball in Yorkshire
- Providing a main point of contact for volunteers and volunteering for the region
- Ensuring all Regional Management Board roles descriptions are up to date
- Leading on the design of new roles and recruitment of volunteers to the Regional Management Board as needed
- Developing and maintaining an induction for Regional Management Board members
- Providing support, tools and guidance on developing volunteering to the Region’s members and partners, including working groups, counties, clubs, leagues and franchise where appropriate
- Updating our records of people interested in volunteering, and sharing opportunities as they arise
- Updating volunteer role adverts across multiple volunteer recruitment sites and sharing vacant roles with partner organisations
- Providing support and advice to organisations and clubs who want to recruit volunteers
- Supporting the delivery of the Regional ONE Awards each June in partnership with regional England Netball staff and Leeds Rhinos staff. This includes ordering gifts, arranging goody bags, promoting the nominations process, supporting the shortlisting process, welcoming and greeting people on the day.
Meetings are flexible and informal, online via Zoom, you will need access to email, WhatsApp, phone and Zoom.
Time Commitment
The term limit for this role is 4 years, after which the role holder will be eligible for re-election for one further term of 4 years. The maximum term limit is 8 years.
The role will require volunteering approximately 2 hours per month, with more time on average needed March - July in the run up to the ONE Awards.

Skills and Knowledge Needed
- In order to be a volunteer on the Regional Management Board, you will need to be, or be willing to become a member of England Netball.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of netball
- Able to uphold the regions code of conduct and behave professionally at all times
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Good IT skills (Including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher)
- Ability to be flexible and work with volunteers from diverse backgrounds to build and maintain effective networks
- Take an interest in and respect the viewpoints of others
- Access to email, WhatsApp and telephone
