healthwatch kirklees & calderdale celebrate volunteering award
The team at Healthwatch Kirklees and Calderdale are celebrating as they achieve a Volunteering Quality Award, recognising the high standard of their volunteer programme.
Volunteers play an important role at Healthwatch Kirklees and Calderdale, as they help the charity collect feedback on the health and social care experiences of local people to share with NHS leaders and other decision-makers to help improve standards in care. Their team of 20+ Volunteers are engaged in a wide range of roles including collecting feedback in person and online, collating data and reviewing documents. Some of their volunteers have health conditions and disabilities themselves, and are able to feedback about their personal experiences of accessing health care services in West Yorkshire.
Becky Bracey, Head of Volunteering at Third Sector Leaders Kirklees and Chair of the assessment panel commented:
“We are delighted that Healthwatch Kirklees and Calderdale have achieved the quality award again; they have demonstrated that they offer a high quality volunteering experience and this should be commended. The assessors particularly highlighted their flexible and inclusive volunteering offer where all volunteers feel welcomed and supported and have an important role to play in improving health and social care services in our local area.”
