Local Charity Launches Inclusive Fundraising Event Ahead of Neurodiversity Celebration Week
With Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16–20 March) fast approaching, Mirfield-based Northorpe Hall Child + Family Trust is launching a new inclusive fundraising event to celebrate what makes every child unique — while raising vital funds for children’s mental health services.
The fundraiser, part of the charity’s new campaign “A Place That Gets Me,” invites schools, businesses and community groups to hold a non-uniform or themed day where participants wear something that reflects their personality, passions or interests.
The aim is to encourage conversations about individuality and inclusion, while supporting Northorpe Hall’s wellbeing and mental health services — particularly for neurodivergent young people.
Ideas include:
- Wearing a favourite colour
- A sports kit or team shirt
- A favourite book, film or character
- Or anything that expresses what makes someone unique
To help extend the campaign’s reach, Northorpe Hall is partnering with Operam Education Group, a UK-wide group of specialist education recruitment agencies, including local agency Provide Education. Operam will be supporting the initiative across its sites in the Midlands and the North.
Paula Ho, Regional Director at Operam Education Group, said:
“We’re thrilled to support Northorpe Hall in this inclusive fundraising campaign. Creating spaces where young people feel truly understood is something we care deeply about, and we’re proud to play a part in making that happen.”
Although the event is initially being run during Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Northorpe Hall are keen to highlight that it can be run at any time of year, leaning once again into the idea of it being a fully inclusive activity.
A fundraising pack will be provided to all participants, including guidance, activity ideas and promotional materials. To register or find out more, visit: www.northorpe.com/aplacethatgetsme
