TSL Kirklees Volunteering is the official Volunteer Centre for Kirklees
This means that we’re here to help you get started on your volunteering journey and support you through the process.
We also make sure that any groups or charities that advertise for volunteers on our website will look after their volunteers properly. Some of them will have a stamp of approval called the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award (KVQA), which means that they’ve done even more to make sure that their volunteers are valued and have a good experience.

We are a large primary set in Liversedge, West Yorkshire and are part of Kirklees Local Authority. We are a friendly school and warmly welcome visitors to come and look around. We are two form entry, admitting children from Reception to Year 6. We currently have 413 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves on being a large school whilst maintaining a small school ‘feel’.
Our pupils behave well and are a pleasure to meet. They are enthusiastic about their learning and try hard to achieve the best they can in all areas. It is important to us that our pupils are happy and motivated. We rightly have a keen focus on Reading, Writing and Maths skills but pride ourselves on supporting children to be good citizens and have the confidence and resilience to live in the modern world getting on well with people. We have a huge focus on their effort and believe this will take them a long way in life.
Would you like to make a difference in our school community?
We are always grateful for the support of volunteers and are currently looking for people who can spare some time to help in a variety of ways, including:
Listening to children read
Supporting learning in classrooms
Preparing and organising classroom resources
Helping children practise and learn their times tables
Providing encouragement and support to our pupils
Volunteering is a wonderful way to become involved in school life, support children's learning and confidence, and make a real difference to their educational journey.
If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, all volunteers will be required to complete our safeguarding procedures, a DBS check and other appropriate pre-volunteering checks.
Thank you for considering supporting our children and school community. We look forward to welcoming new volunteers to our team!
