Home-Start Kirklees is a local, voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of children. We offer practical and emotional support to families living in Kirklees who have children aged 0-4 years.
At Home-Start Kirklees, we believe that children will have the best start in life and families will be safe, healthy and resilient.
Are you considering a career working with children? Do you need a volunteer role that is flexible, within your local area and fully supported with training and guidance?
Our training covers everything you need to know including knowledge that can be transferred such as safeguarding, the importance of confidentiality, listening skills and why family's might need support.
After attending 5 x 5 hour training sessions, you will be matched to support a family living in Kirklees who have children aged 0 - 4 years. With the full support of Home-Start staff and resources, we will work towards increasing a family's confidence and independence.
You will become part of our family support volunteer team who support a family depending on their need. This can be via home visiting and community based or via telephone support or at one of our group settings.
*** Our next volunteer training course starts on Tuesday 23rd April with the option to attend a course in Huddersfield or Batley. ***
