The Kirkwood is a local Charity providing specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees living with life limiting illnesses in Kirklees.
We are a team of clinical and medical professionals, fundraisers, chefs, receptionists and cleaners. We are supporters and volunteers. We are patients, carers and families. We are a movement of people motivated by our shared vision to provide the very best care for the people of Kirklees.
Volunteering with The Kirkwood is open to people of all ages and backgrounds. And the great thing is that a little of your time can make a massive difference to what we can achieve!
Are you ready to be at the heart of our online sales revolution? As an Online Retail Enthusiast, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic team, shaping the future of our eBay shop. With your keen eye for detail and passion for organisation, you'll play an important role in maximising the potential of our donated items.
From researching and describing to photographing and posting, you'll be at the heart of it all. And the best part? You'll be making a real difference by raising funds to support your local community.
Key Tasks:
• Researching donated items to assess their value
• Preparing items to make the most of our donations
• Writing accurate product descriptions for our website
• Taking quality photographs to attract online customers
• Packing and dispatching online orders
• Specialising in specific product categories based on your interests
As an Online Retail Volunteer, we’ll provide you with all the training and support you need to become an integral part of our Online Retail team.
While no specific skills or experience are required, the following attributes are beneficial:
• Happy to work as part of a team
• Eagerness to learn new skills
• Basic IT skill and confidence using a computer
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Location:
The Kirkwood Distribution Centre, Sands Mill, Mirfield WF14 9DQ.
Full training will be provided and expenses are available in line with our expenses policy. This is a great opportunity to support the Kirkwood and gain retail and distribution experience. Wherever, possible The Kirkwood would prefer a minimum six month commitment for volunteering roles. However, each applicant will be treated individually.
