Established in 1974, Fresh Futures is a regional charity that supports vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people, and their families, within Kirklees and surrounding areas.
Our vision is for all children, young people and their families to have opportunities for a better life, now and in the future.
We are committed to improving the lives of children and young people by providing opportunities that enable them to achieve a positive destination that is right for them. We empower families and influential adults to make positive choices, so children and young people live healthy and happy lives. Role Purpose
This role involves supporting the development of the Fresh Futures and Brian Jackson College websites, working towards accessibility and efficiency.
Tasks
- Conduct key word research to identify high-value search items.
- Conduct competitor research and analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
- Optimise website content, e.g. alternative text, internal and external links, article structure, for search engines.
- Track analytics to refine strategies.
Welcomed Experience and Qualities
We welcome applications from individuals who have experience with Search Engine Optimisation, however this is not essential as training will be provided. Volunteers should show an interest in IT or digital marketing.
Volunteers will be expected to volunteer from our office at Brian Jackson House, New North Parade, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP, for the first few sessions. Then flexible remote working will be accepted.
Support for Volunteers
- Relevant Training is provided.
- Regular contact with the team via phone calls and emails.
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- Invited to Fresh Futures induction day.
- Invites to social events throughout the year.
Volunteer Expectations
As a Fresh Futures volunteer, you are expected to:

- Be reliable and trustworthy, maintaining a friendly and approachable manner at all times.
- Treat everyone with respect — acting fairly, honestly, and considerately.
- Carry out your volunteering duties responsibly and ask for support whenever needed.
- Complete all mandatory training within the required timeframes.
- Be punctual and dependable; if you cannot attend a session, inform us with as much notice as possible.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
- Understand and follow safeguarding procedures, including knowing who to report concerns to.
- Adhere to Fresh Futures’ zero‑discrimination policy.
- Follow all organisational policies and procedures as outlined during induction and in the Volunteer Handbook.
