Supporting children and families across West Yorkshire
By providing outstanding nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory-making, end-of-life care, bereavement support and counselling to families facing or living with the loss of their child, we help them to make the most of every moment together.
We need you to help bring our charity shops to life on social media!
This is a flexible, creative opportunity for someone who enjoys turning everyday moments in our shops into content that encourages people to visit, donate, volunteer and support the Hospice. This is a hybrid role, including both on-site shop visits and the opportunity to edit photos/videos and write copy remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Create visual content: take clear, appealing photographs and short videos of interesting, unusual or seasonal items available in the shops.
- Share volunteer stories: with permission, photograph or film volunteers and capture short comments about why they volunteer and what they enjoy about it.
- Draft social media copy: write concise, friendly descriptions for Facebook posts to accompany photographs and videos, using an appropriate tone and clear calls to action where relevant.
- Support shop priorities: work with shop staff and the Retail Volunteer Lead to promote specific needs, including requests for donated goods and volunteer recruitment.
- Produce seasonal content: plan and create posts linked to key seasons, celebrations, campaigns and retail moments.
- Share Hospice news: help communicate approved Hospice news and messages through retail social media content.
- Find local community groups: to recommend joining and sharing content in
- Follow agreed processes: submit content for approval where required and follow guidance on branding, safeguarding, consent, confidentiality and social media use.
About you:
You don't need professional photography or social media experience! We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys taking photographs and short videos and has a good eye for interesting details.
- Can write clear, upbeat and concise descriptions
- Listens to guidance and works collaboratively.
- Is reliable, respectful and sensitive when representing the Hospice and the people connected with it.
- Can use a smartphone confidently.
