About the Organisation

Supporting children and families across West Yorkshire by providing outstanding nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory-making, end-of-life care, bereavement support and counselling to families facing or living with the loss of their child, we help them to make the most of every moment together.

Role Description

Description
Please note that this role will operate from our Manchester Road charity shop and is suitable only for volunteers aged 21+ and those who have had their license for 2+ years.

 

Role Purpose

In this role, you will be generally working alongside another driver, collecting and transporting stock between shops and customers' homes and between our various charity shops in a Forget Me Not van. This would include furniture and therefore some heavy lifting and carrying.

 

Shifts

Shifts are flexible to suit you, with options for half or full days Monday through Sunday, with a full day being around 8:00am to 3:00pm.

 

Tasks & activities

  • Delivering and collecting stock and donations to and from Forget Me Not charity shops, homes, businesses and other locations.
  • Ensuring the van is used efficiently and is clean and presentable, carrying out basic checks at the end of the day to make sure the van is roadworthy.
  • Following the instructions of the Transport Team Lead to ensure donated/purchased goods are collected/delivered on the day specified and in accordance with policy.

 

Personal qualities & experience

You need to be approachable and friendly. Previous experience of working in this area is not essential but would be useful. Knowledge of the local area and shop locations would be helpful.

  • Expectations
    Holder of a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
    Aged 21+
    Wear an ID lanyard provided by FMN
    Complete a DBS check and provide references
    Complete all mandatory training and e-learning
