Provides support and advocacy for the community youth sector across Kirklees.
Kirklees Youth Alliance are seeking volunteers aged 16+ (suitable for DoE placements where participants are aged 16+) to help out at the Sand Park Youth Club at Crow Nest Adventure Playground (Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury, WF13 2SG), on Tuesday teatimes from 4.30pm - 6.30pm (term-time only).
The youth clubs are run by a partnership of KYA who will be delivering a programme of health and wellbeing activities as well as life skills and space for young people to chill with their friends.
The role will typically involve the following tasks:
-Helping to set up activities
-Welcoming young people to the youth club and signing them in.
-Encouraging young people to take part in activities.
-Building supportive relationships with young people.
-Supporting young people who need additional help to engage with activities.
-Tidying up at the end of the session.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience supporting children and young people.
