'Looking out for our neighbours' phase 4: targeting young people
VCSE sector allies please join us and inspire a sense of kindness
‘Looking out for our neighbours’ aims to prevent loneliness and its associated health issues by encouraging communities to look after vulnerable people thus reducing demand on health and care services through early help and preventing ill health. The campaign aims to inspire communities to engage in simple activities and micro-wellbeing interventions that will create positive impact. Launching in March 2019, the campaign has focused on encouraging communities to look after vulnerable people with a focus on elderly and families with young children. We’re preparing to launch phase four from mid-September and this time the focus will be young people.
Through this campaign we hope to encourage young people to look out for each other and inspire a sense of kindness. By launching #SpreadTheKindness and asking young people to step up by performing random acts of kindness or simply writing a kind message to a friend we will be helping those young people who are feeling lonely or isolated know they are not alone. If you support young people (roughly those aged between 15 and 25) or you know a lot of young people use or comes into contact with your service, please contact: Saleem saleem@magpiecomms.com and he’ll tell you how to get involved.
