Bradford Literature Festival: FREE TICKETS FOR WEST YORKSHIRE COMMUNITY GROUPS

The Bradford Literature Festival is inviting community groups across West Yorkshire to register for a unique code which members can use to book free tickets to this year’s event.

They are encouraging any groups that individuals are involved with to be made aware of this offer. This could be an informal group that comes together for befriending, wellbeing, a book club or writing group, sports or cultural activity. It could also be a community-based organisation wanting to bring its members to the festival. More details are available on their website.

This year’s festival runs from Friday 28th June to Sunday 7th July and features 500 events: from comedy to qawwali, from the Brontës to bhangra to botany. There are events on crime fiction, memoir, cyberpunk, science fiction and poetry, as well as opportunities to meet agents and publishers. They have events on food, fashion, faith, photography, and film screenings, as well as a series of free family fun days in City Park.

To apply for a code, groups should click the following link and complete the form:

Once a group has been verified, they will receive a unique code which can be used at checkout once they have selected events they’d like to attend.

Although the code can be used more than once, the festival asks that it is used only to book tickets for members of the group and that it is not passed on to anyone else. If individuals know of other community groups who would like to access free festival tickets, they are asked to request those groups complete the form themselves so they can register for their own unique booking code.

Groups are kindly requested to only book tickets for events they are able to attend in full. The festival is keen to avoid wastage, therefore, if a group is unable to attend an event for which they have booked tickets, they should let the box office know at boxoffice@bradfordlitfest.co.uk as soon as possible so these tickets can be made available to others. These protocols will allow the festival to continue offering complimentary and concessionary tickets for future festivals.

The festival would also like contacts to be aware of their Ethical Ticketing Policy which means senior citizens, unemployed, refugees and asylum seekers, teachers and home educators, those in full time education, living in social housing, or on any type of government benefit (including tax credits or universal credit) can book FREE tickets without a code. They can also make free tickets available to teachers and educators. Through their unique approach, they are striving to ensure culture and creativity are accessible to all and are committed to creating an inclusive program that reflects and welcomes everyone in the city and region. More information can be found here: https://www.bradfordlitfest.co.uk/concessions/

As well as enjoying their must-see events, the festival hopes groups will use this free ticket offer to try a couple of events which may not ordinarily be on their radar.
