Many businesses and organisations offer their employees an opportunity to volunteer in work time.
This is sometimes known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Value or Employer Supported Volunteering. Volunteering individually or as a team can be a great way to support your local community and give your employees a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Many businesses share their time and skills with a charity through a team away day or team building experience with colleagues.
You can view and register your interest in a Team or Individual Skills Share Volunteering opportunity below. You can also sign up to our quarterly Social Value Newsletter by scrolling to the sign up form at the bottom of this page.
We can also help if you would like to fundraise for a charity/community group, collect donations or share your expertise or resources. Talk to us: email volunteer@tslkirklees.org.uk tel. 01484 519053 / 07776588691

Here at The Kirkwood we provide a range of care and support aimed at improving the lives of people affected by any life-limiting illness in our local communities. We are extremely fortunate to have the support and commitment of over 800 dedicated volunteers who work alongside staff in a variety of roles and departments. The Kirkwood Team work tirelessly to support people to improve their quality of life; remain as independent as possible; and maintain their dignity until the very end. Families and loved-ones are also supported during the illness and in bereavement.
We couldn’t do what we do without our loyal volunteers! We’d love to hear from you if you can spare some of your time to help Kirkwood care and extend its reach to others that could benefit from the services we provide.
Your team will work closely with our online sales team at our busy Donation Centre at Sands Mill, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 9DQ.
Suitable for Teams of 2 to 12 people.
The work involves supporting the preparation of listings of preloved donations, with activities including taking pictures, researching, sorting clothing or packing sold items ready to be posted out to customers.
We welcome teams for the day to help us raise vital funds for the Kirkwood.
