As you may already know, within Brian Jackson House is a café consisting of a fully equipped kitchen and a large seating area. During the pandemic, the café stopped operating, and YCC is now looking to open this back up to all staff, tenants and members of the public. Your opinions, ideas and experience of the café are hugely important in helping us to get this back up and running successfully.

Opportunity to lease the Cafe
Furthermore, YCC is offering to lease the café to a social enterprise at a low rent of £200.00 per month (aiming to cover all bills which would be included). The café comprises of a large seating area and a fully equipped kitchen, located just behind reception on the ground floor – please feel free to go and check it out.
Whilst they are really flexible about how the café could be used and happy to accept any suggestions and proposals, what is important to YCC is that they can bring back a space that provides food and drink options for everyone within the building (staff, tenants and service users), whilst also providing a safe space for our local community and the general public. This could be through work experience opportunities, or through small incentives such as food vouchers for the homeless, baby and parent days, and book club days.
YCC work closely with supporting social enterprises and helping charities gain access to projects and opportunities.
