Chief Officer Val Johnson celebrates 20 years at Third Sector Leaders Kirklees
Our Chief Officer, Val Johnson, celebrated 20 years at Third Sector Leaders Kirklees (and it’s various earlier incarnations as Voluntary Action Kirklees and Volunteering Kirklees) on Friday. A few members of the team met up with her at our new base in Yorkshire Children’s Centre for a picnic lunch and fantastic celebration carrot cake from local charity cake shop, Ruddi’s in Slaithwaite (which helps to fund Ruddi’s Retreat). Val initially came for an 8-month project, and has stayed ever since! Over the past 3 years Val has overseen the merger of Volunteering Kirklees and TSL Kirklees, and the evolution of TSL from a purely membership organisation with a couple of part-time staff to a fully-fledged charity that offers free support, training, advice and networking to any charitable, voluntary or community organisation in Kirklees. On behalf of the whole team, we would like to thank Val for her vision, leadership, hard work and dedication, and congratulate her on her service.
