Community buildings and energy project 2023 - book now to find out more...

join us on wednesday 14th june, 10am to 12pm in huddersfield

In 2021, TSL Kirklees conducted a Community Buildings Survey, identifying over 200 community spaces, most run by smaller community organisations.

Since then we have all seen a dramatic increase in energy bills for households, businesses and community organisations. At the recent community buildings network meeting it was agreed that energy costs were now the priority.

Community buildings play a vital role in community wellbeing, bringing people together to support each other and provide services – often reaching those who do not get help elsewhere.

The TSL Kirklees Community Buildings and Energy Project 2023 will seek funding and support to:

  • Help community-managed buildings to reduce energy use & cost and share learning
  • Help organisations to access technical advice, building audits, installers and suppliers
  • Help organisations to access grants, loans and other finance for energy improvement works
  • Involve community buildings in supporting local households to reduce energy use & cost
  • The next meeting about this project is on the 14 June, 10am at the Methodist Mission, Lord St, Huddersfield. I hope you can come.
