Free Joint ACT / SCaN Training Event

This sessions will cover both the Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) and See, Check and Notify (SCaN) sessions. They are delivered by representatives of the North East Counter Terrorism Team.

Attendance to these sessions are FREE of charge.

Date in North Kirklees are available as follows (all are to be held at Dewsbury Town Hall)

  • July 6th 2026 (10:30-12:30)
  • December 2nd 2026 (10:30-12:30)

Each session lasts 2 hours (please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the session).

ACT Awareness

    • Raise awareness of the terrorism threat
    • Provide actions to protect themselves and the organisation during an attack
    • Strengthens organisational resilience against potential terrorist threats
    • Demonstrates proactive compliance with security best practices
    • Enhances staff confidence and preparedness, reducing risk during critical incidents

SCaN (See, Check and Notify)

    • Equip staff with skills to disrupt hostile reconnaissance and criminal acts
    • Enhance customer service and site security
    • Improves early detection and prevention of suspicious activity
    • Reduces vulnerability to criminal or hostile acts
    • Promotes a culture of vigilance and accountability across the workforce
