Session by Rachel Walmsley covers Awards for All aims, priorities, applications, people-led projects, and key organisational requirements.

Please note that this session is only available to 10 VCSE organisations based in Kirklees. The session is designed for organisations that are currently in the process of applying or are planning to apply for an Awards for All grants in the next few months.

10 seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Please check the Awards for All website to ensure that you are eligible to apply.

About the Awards for All grant – VCSE organisations can apply for grants of between £300 and £20,000 for projects lasting up to 2 years. The funding can be used to start a new activity or continue an existing one, or help your organisation adapt to new challenges. Awards for All fund projects that:

  • bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
  • improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  • help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
  • support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis

Funding can be used for: running costs for your organisation, equipment, one-off events, staff and training costs, transport, utilities, volunteer expenses and small land or refurbishment projects. The Awards for All grant can be applied for year on year. If an organisation applies for the full £20,000 that means that every 14 months they can access this grant.

The session will be delivered by Rachel Walmsley, an experienced bid writer from Succeed Training and Development Ltd. This session will support you to gain:

  • A clear understanding of the Awards for All programme and its priorities
  • An understanding of each of the Awards for All aims
  • Insight into what is needed to answer each question effectively
  • How to ensure your project responds to local needs and is “people-led”
  • Knowledge about the organisational requirements, including bank details and trustee information

The 10 organisations are expected to work on their grant applications after the session and can access coaching for up to 90-minutes with Rachel Walmsley to further improve their Awards for All grant application by 9th August 2026.

If you can no longer book a seat for this session but you would be interested in attending the same session in the future, please email the TSL Kirklees team at Comms@tslkirklees.org.uk with the subject title ‘Waiting list - How to apply for an Awards of All Grant’ and we will put you on a waiting list. Please note that TSL cannot guarantee that we will run this session again. It is helpful for TSL to understand the demand for this session so that we can take this into consideration for future planning purposes.
