Household Support Fund
Funding of up to £2,000 is available to help community groups provide food, energy & water and essentials to households this winter

The Household Support Grant is Government funding which has come to Third Sector Leaders from Kirklees Council.
Community groups can use the funding to help people who are struggling to get support with accessing food, energy and water, and other essentials (such as hygiene products, warm clothing, blankets, service/repair/purchase of equipment.) It isn’t for groups to give out grants to people.
Groups can apply for up to £2,000 to be used in the following ways:
- Food – support with food/vouchers.
- Energy and water – support with energy bills for fuel for domestic heating, cooking or lighting, water bills.
- Essentials linked to energy and water- (including sanitary products, warm clothing, soap, blankets, boiler service/repair, purchase/repair of equipment including fridges, freezers & ovens
- Wider essentials – support with wider essential needs not linked to energy and water- e.g. support with other bills including broadband or phone bills, clothing, essential transport-related costs such as repairing a car, buying a bicycle or paying for fuel.
Applications can include reasonable costs incurred administering the proposed activities – for example:
- Staff /volunteer costs
- Publicity to raise awareness of the scheme
- Printing
- Small IT changes, e.g. to enable production of monitoring information
