Local charity, and TSL member, Kirklees Youth Alliance (KYA) has recently revised its membership policy and membership form on its website and is inviting new organisations to get involved.
KYA’s vision is for a vibrant community youth sector across Kirklees and anyone who wants to help achieve that vision is welcome to join. KYA’s focus is on high quality youth work practice i.e. the social, personal, educational and political development of young people aged 11+.
KYA now has 4 categories of membership: core delivery organisations, suppliers (e.g. arts practitioners, sports coaches, training providers, youth support services etc.), partners and business supporters.
Members of KYA benefit from a monthly newsletter highlighting relevant youth sector funding and training opportunities as well as youth development opportunities and job vacancies. KYA also facilitates networking opportunities and provides 121 advice and guidance to groups including free DBS checks for their volunteers and help with policies and procedures.
The new membership process for core delivery organisations is accompanied by the introduction of Quality for Youth Bronze which supports groups to demonstrate they have everything in place to operate safely and legally.
