Local Democracy Week – “If you’re part of mutual aid, you’re part of local democracy”

As part of Local Democracy Week our colleagues at Kirklees Council are running an event called “If you’re part of mutual aid, you’re part of local democracy”. This is for all local groups or organisations who have supported our communities during Covid-19.

By being active citizens in your local place you are part of your local democracy. You are making decisions about what happens in your neighbourhood and working with others to make it happen. They want to talk with active citizens about whether you feel part of local democracy now, and listen to your ideas about what would help you and others to stay involved in civic life.

You can sign-up to join the online discussion workshop to share your experiences with other participants and members of Kirklees Council’s Democracy Service.

The event takes place on 22nd October, 6pm to 7.30pm.
