Community Grants Program

FUND NAME: Community Grants Program.

One Community Foundation aims to strengthen local communities by providing funding to help build a sustainable and confident voluntary sector in Kirklees.

That's why, thanks to our generous donors, from March 1st 2023 community projects and registered local charities can apply for up to £3,000 from our Community Grants Program.

Many funds are considered by our Community Grants Program grants panel at the same time. All the funds in this program will consider applications for projects and core costs.

These Funds Include:

JL Brierley Hazel Charlesworth Judith and Neil Charlesworth Kirklees Community Fund Stephen Wood Fund Kirklees General Fund Kirklees Police Fund. Parish Fund. Accept Cards Fund. Heckmondwike Funds.

Rounds:

Decision dates: Maximum of 8 weeks after the closing date of the round.

Please make sure your project start date is after this date, we cannot fund activity that has already taken place. (If you are requesting a contribution to an existing project/service please still allow 8 weeks post the round closing for your start date).

What will we fund?

These funds will consider applications for any type of community or charitable projects taking place in Kirklees. For example, you can request, staffing costs, volunteer costs, equipment, rent, event costs, etc.

Who can apply?

· Constituted voluntary, community and faith groups run for, and by local people (Note: individuals cannot apply)

· Registered charities and groups with charitable purposes working in Kirklees.

· Community Interest Companies (CICs) who do not, and cannot, pay dividends.

· Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) whose Governance documents include a clear community benefit clause, open membership and an asset lock.

· Schools/PTA/PFA.

What documentation do you need to supply with your application form?

· Constitution or set of rules/Governing Documents. Signed.

· If you are a registered Charity a copy of audited/inspected Accounts, if you are not a registered charity a cash flow.

· Bank statement (no older than 3 months) clearly shows the account name, sort code, and account number.

What we don’t fund.

Activities we don’t fund include party political activity, promotion of religion, replacement of statutory funding, project cost that has already been paid for, groups that have not complied with previous monitoring requirements, and organisations that predominantly support animals.

Note: If a charity has qualified accounts, is under investigation by the Charity Commission, or has an active warning on the Charity Commission Website, we will not accept applications.
