Platinum Jubilee Village Halls Fund
- Overview: Capital grants are available from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) for village halls in rural areas across England to enhance, upgrade, extend, improve, and construct halls so that, as a result, new activities can take place bringing communities together.
- Objectives:
- Modernisation and improvement of village halls to support:
- Improved health and wellbeing
- Reduction in rural loneliness
- Positive impact on the local environment
- Support for the local rural economy
- Promotion of community cohesion
- Grant Amount: £7,500 to £75,000
- Match Funding: 80% required (cannot use Rural England Prosperity Fund)
- Eligible Applicants: Registered charities, charitable trusts, CIOs, community associations, multi-purpose church halls, scout and guide buildings, charitable companies, parish or town councils, parochial church councils
