Research engagement opportunity - financial guides to support children and young people

MaPS research recruitment

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) is a government body working to ensure people throughout the U.K. can access the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime.

MaPS coordinated the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing, which includes a goal of two million more children and young people receiving a meaningful financial education by 2030.

Some children and young people live in homes where they do not receive all the constructive financial influences and learning they need, or they may have additional needs that would benefit from help outside of school or the home.

Services working daily with these children and young people are well-placed to help them develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to make the most of their money now, and into adulthood.

Clearly, services have various competing priorities, so they are conducting research to determine how frontline workers would like to receive information and support on this topic. This will inform the guidance they produce for leaders and frontline workers to enable them to build financial education into their services.

How you can help

They are looking for managers and practitioners who work with children and young people outside of school settings to take part in focus groups and share insights into how information on this topic can be most effectively provided for frontline staff.

If you or anyone in your team wish to take part in a short focus groups during November, please fill out the below form.

When using the form, suggest any and all dates which work for you. Email Craig at craig@hopscotchconsulting.co.uk if there’s any problems or you would like to discuss.
