About the Organisation

Parkwood Community Project Huddersfield, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) established in 2018 and registered in February 2025, is committed to transforming lives in Trees Estate, Golcar, Huddersfield—one of the UK’s 4.2% most deprived areas.

Our journey began with two community consultations in 2018, where we listened to residents to understand their needs. This sparked our intergenerational Community Breakfast and Cook and Eat clubs at the Drop By Centre on Sycamore Avenue. These initiatives form the cornerstone of our mission to reduce isolation, enhance mental health, and build essential life skills.

Over the past year we’ve served 2,239 meals, each a symbol of care and connection, engaging over 100 residents. From a jobless visitor finding community over breakfast to young people thriving in our Kids Holiday Club (10+ per session), we create impact. Since partnering with Youth Matters in 2024, we’re committed to expanding with permanent Junior and Senior Youth Clubs.

We’ve also funded the Young Leaders Network Course in local schools, empowering teens (13-18) with accredited skills for employment and leadership.

Parkwood Community Project is a beacon of hope, driving positive change through community-led action.
