Getting to Grips with Canva: Template Creation

Canva is a simple and powerful design tool that helps charities and community organisations create eye-catching social media graphics, posters, flyers, presentations and more, even if you have no design experience.
This practical 90-minute online session is designed specifically for small charities and community organisations in Kirklees, especially those managing communications alongside many other responsibilities and without dedicated communications support.
During the session, participants will learn how to:
- Upload logos, brand colours and images
- Navigate Canva with confidence and use its key tools
- Create reusable templates for social media, posters and promotional materials
- Save time while keeping branding consistent
- Adapt templates for future campaigns and events
By the end of the session, participants will feel more confident using Canva and will leave with two practical templates and the skills to adapt them for future campaigns and events.

Small charities, voluntary groups and community organisations based in Kirklees.

To make the most of the session, please apply for your free Canva Pro account before attending. During the workshop, we will guide you through uploading your logo, adding your brand colours and creating two practical templates you can start using straight away.
Places available: Maximum 30 participants.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Session facilitator: Kelly Hodgson, Charity Communications Consultant, with over 15 years’ experience working across the voluntary and community sector and a practical understanding of the challenges small organisations face when juggling communications alongside service delivery.
