Home Instead Charities: Small Grants for Winter Activities to Help Reduce Social Isolation for Older People

  • Overview: Grants are available for small grassroots community groups and small local registered charities that are providing activities and projects to prevent social isolation and loneliness for older people (the over 55s), with a focus on wellbeing activities that help older adults stay active, healthy, and connected.
  • Funding Details:
    • Up to £500 for small grassroots organisations
    • Up to £1,500 for small, registered charities
    • Larger grants may be considered for exceptional projects
    • Full funding only available if the applicant has no more than three months’ operating costs in reserve; otherwise, match funding of up to 50% is required
    • Priority given to groups connected to a local Home Instead office
  • Eligible Activities:
    • Regular events: e.g., cinema club, knit and natter, lunch clubs
    • One-off events: e.g., day trips, Christmas lunches
    • Wellbeing activities: e.g., yoga, guest speakers
  • Deadline: 31 October 2025
