National Churches Trust – Large Grants Programme
Overview: Grants are available to support the conservation and sustainable use of church buildings, focusing on larger and more complex projects with priority given to urgent structural repairs or the introduction of kitchens and accessible toilets.

- £10,000–£50,000
- Grants at the upper end (£40k–£50k) are very limited.
- Average award: ~£15,000.
Applicants must:

- Own the building or have rights to carry out works.
- Be a registered charity if not part of a main denomination.
- Have annual income <£100,000 if not registered with the Charity Commission.
- Buildings must be open for worship at least 6 times a year and open to the public 100 days/year after project completion.
Project Requirements:

- Work must be supervised by a qualified conservation professional (AABC, RIBA CA, RIAS Advanced, RICS, CIAT).
- All permissions (faculty, planning, etc.) must be in place before applying.
- Work must not have started before the application is submitted.
- At least 50% match funding required.
