Benefact Trust – Community Impact Grants
Summary: Discretionary grants are available for churches, cathedrals, denominational bodies, Christian charities, schools, and theological institutions across the UK to deliver projects and activities that have a positive impact on communities.
Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time
Purpose and objectives: The fund supports Christian organisations to deliver projects that make a positive, transformative community impact, aligned to four objectives:

- Growing congregations and Christian communities
- Addressing social challenges facing communities
- Enabling wider community use of church buildings
- Empowering Christian education
Funding requirements:

- Organisations are expected to have secured at least 30% match funding before applying
- Funding can support new projects or expansion of existing work
- Both capital and revenue costs may be supported (where eligible)
Eligible activity (by programme area):

- Growing congregations & communities: outreach, faith development, youth engagement, training, church planting, new chapels (e.g. for hospices)
- Social challenges: food poverty, debt, mental health, children/families, young people/NEET, older people, homelessness, refugees/asylum seekers, offenders, addiction, disability, modern slavery, inclusion
- Community use of church buildings: redevelopment or improvements that increase community use, including disabled access and supporting a sustainable transition
- Schools & educational institutions: new or refurbished worship/spiritual spaces (e.g. chapels, prayer gardens)
