Esmée Fairbairn Foundation - Strategic Legal Fund
· Overview: Grants of up to £30,000 are available to not-for-profit frontline organisations and community groups to support strategic legal work in the UK which benefits asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants who are experiencing disadvantage or discrimination as a result of their migration status.
· Objectives:
o Support strategic legal work in the UK benefiting asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants facing disadvantage or discrimination due to their migration status.
o Aim to tackle injustices and inconsistencies in law and practice.
· Eligible Applicants:
o Not-for-profit organisations providing specialist legal advice.
o Firms of solicitors offering pro bono legal advice.
· Restrictions:
o Funding not available for pre-litigation research already in progress.
o Applications with low prospects of positive outcomes or no significant positive change.
o Applicants based outside the UK.
· Eligible Expenditure:
o Covers reasonable revenue costs for pre-litigation research or third-party interventions.
o Includes temporary staffing, volunteer expenses, travel, and subcontracting.
