At Kirkburton Uniformed Groups, Scouts and Guides meet in the heart of Kirkburton. We also host our annual beer festival, KirkburtonFest to support local charities and fundraise for the Scouts and Guides.
We currently have 6 Scout and Guide sections Providing valuable skills and experiences to young people from ages 6 to 18.
Brownies (for 7 to 10 yr olds) meet 6.15 to 7.30pm Thursdays
Guides (for 10 to 14 yr olds) meet 7.45 to 9.00pm Mondays
Rangers (14 to 25 yr olds) meet 7.30 to 9.00pm Wednesdays
Beavers (6 to 8 yr olds) meet 6.00 to 7.00pm Tuesdays
Cubs (for 8 to 10½ yr olds) meet 6.30 to 7.30pm Mondays
Scouts (for 10½ to 14 yr olds) meet 7.30 to 9.00pm Tuesdays

At the beating heart of our programme, our Beavers Team Members break the mould and create bold environments for their Beaver Colonies to grow, play and explore.
Description
Gingerbread baker? Den-maker? Whatever your skills, we want you to join the adventure and help our eager six to eight year old Beavers gain skills for life. One session you might be exploring the great outdoors. And the next? Learning new things right on your doorstep. You’ll create lifelong memories for our Beavers. And when they’re ready, you’ll send them off to become courageous Cubs, eager to reach new heights on their journey with Scouts. We’re all about teamwork here at Scouts, and the beauty of volunteering in a team means there’s always someone who can help you out.
No previous experience with young people? No problem.
Whether you'd like to help out week-after-week or whenever-you-can, we provide learning opportunities and a brew – every step of the way.
A typical weekday session might look something like:

Welcome young people and families to sessions and events

Make sure everyone's safe, supported, included and having fun

Help to plan and lead activities

Get involved with days out, camps and expeditions

Share and learn skills – from coding to cake decorating to canoeing

Celebrate young people's achievements big and small

Chatting and collaborating with fellow volunteers and
parents and carers.
