Kirklees Libraries are increasing reading and literacy, improving digital access and literacy, supporting everyone to achieve their full potential, supporting everyone to live healthier and happier lives, enabling greater prosperity, building stronger more resilient communities, offering everyone access to culture and the opportunity to be creative. Volunteering opportunities are varied and include storytelling, supporting events, helping with crafts, gardening, running Lego and code clubs, admin role e.g. secretary, chair and planning rotas for Friends of groups and many more. If you want to make new friends, get out and keep active, support your community or gain new skills we have something for you.
In this role you will use your creative skills to plan, promote and run craft activities. In this role you may be:
- planning craft activities to run with people of all ages
- preparing materials for these activities
- running craft sessions with children, adults and families
- publicising the library to make sure as many people as possible hear about our offers
- promoting the library service and encouraging non members to join
- discussing and recording the impact that the library service make on customers' lives.
You will be a creative person who enjoys working with both adults and children. You will be able to communicate well with others. We do not offer travel expenses for volunteering but we can cover travel costs for attending our training. We offer an induction to the library service and training for the role. This is an opportunity to meet new people and enhance your CV.
