Description
FEATHERS FOR SREBRENICA is a community-driven arts project remembering the Srebrenica genocide of 1995. Fostering unity through creativity and focused on Huddersfield and Dewsbury, we offer 10 inclusive creative workshops for all ages, uniting refugees from all backgrounds and local residents. Participants engage in activities like printmaking, music production and creating banners that intertwine the scenic beauty of Kirklees and Bosnia. Inspired by the local Bosnian community, the programme explores themes of displacement and resilience, promoting mutual understanding. The project culminates in a dynamic commemorative event on the 11th July in central Dewsbury.
Volunteer Roles
You can volunteer at one or multiple workshops taking place throughout June and July and/or at the event itself on 11th July. Activities can include:
• welcoming and signing people in
• introducing participants to the building
• making sure people understand the guidance and instructions from the artists
• supporting participants with tasks
• helping artists and co-ordinator with resources
• helping with refreshments
• opportunity to participate in the arts activities if volunteers would like to

• Saturday 27th June a presence at REFUGEE WEEK EVENT 3 - 6pm LBT, HUDDS
• Thursday 29th June 6.00 - 8.30pm at New North Road Baptist Church Hall
• Thursday 2nd July 6.00 - 8.30pm, 10 Queen Street, Hudds
• Monday 6th July 6.00 - 8.30pm at New North Road Baptist Church Hall
• Tuesday 7th July 6.00pm - 8.30pm The Gallery, Lawrence Batley Theatre
