In 2027, Great Britain will host 'Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift' for the first time ( this is a premier Women's Cycle Race which takes place over 3 days and attracts international visitors)
This is the first time Tour de France and Tour de France avec Zwift will take place in the same country outside France in the same year.
The cyclists will be racing through Kirklees on the first day of the races, and the volunteer programme to support the event is managed by Le Tour de France Grand Départ 2027 Committee at British Cycling.

The Women's Race Stage 1 takes place on Friday 30th July 2027 travelling from Leeds to Manchester.
The route passes through or near the Kirklees areas of Birkenshaw, Birstall, Gomersal, Heckmondwike, Mirfield, Kirkheaton, Moldgreen, Huddersfield, Netherton and Mirfield.
As a JOYMaker you will support the event, and this could include any of the following tasks:
- Welcoming Visitors and helping them find their way
- Supporting people at events, fanzones and activities
- Helping keep the route safe for riders and spectators
- Talking to visitors and sharing information about the event
You will just be required to volunteer for one shift. Please note you will be volunteering outdoors.
As a volunteer you will:
- receive an Official Grand DépartGB 2027 JOY Maker Kit to wear with pride
- Make connections and meet new people from your area and afar
- Help your local community shine to millions of spectators from around the world
- access Training and skill development, including the opportunity for people aged 16-25 to join our Readiness to Work programme.
Please note we are not able to reimburse travel expenses due to the high number of volunteers required, however you can request to volunteer near to where you live.
The closing date for this opportunity is 1st September 2026, with recruitment and roles allocated by December 2026.
You will then receive some core training in early 2027 and venue training in Spring 2027 ready for the big event on Friday 30th July 2027.
