Pianists—ranging from good amateurs, finalists of the Channel 4 series ‘The Piano’, conservatory students to seasoned professionals—perform in venues along a curated walking route

Accessible. The event is designed to be inclusive, with performances hosted in familiar, easily accessible locations like cafés, churches, and community spaces

Competition Element. Talented participants can compete for a chance to attend Wibi Soerjadi’s prestigious Summer Course/Masterclass in the Netherlands

Role Overview

Route Guides are the friendly faces who help audiences navigate the Mirfield Piano Walk. Positioned at key points along the route, they offer directions, answer questions, and ensure everyone feels welcome and confident as they explore the event.

Key Responsibilities

• Help visitors find their way between venues
• Greet passersby with a smile, answer questions, and share event highlights
• Keep an eye on foot traffic, report any issues, and assist with crowd flow

Ideal Qualities

• Friendly, confident, and proactive
• Comfortable standing outdoors
• Good communicator with a helpful attitude

• Familiarity with Mirfield’s layout is a plus (maps provided)
• Enthusiasm for music, community, or local culture
