TIMEtogether is the operating name of local independant charity, the Denby Dale Centre. The charity aims to connect people, reduce isolation, relieve loneliness and improve quality of life, by providing activities, transport and places. TIMEtogether has an operating office in Denby Dale in Kirklees, however operates throughout the Kirklees area.
Make a real difference to local people by working alongside employed Dementia Support Workers and our Dementia Champions. This volunteer role is what you make it. You could help run activities like brain-games, skittles, arts & crafts, cooking, ten-pin bowling, pamper days or perhaps you have a particular skill or knowledge you would like to share. Socialising and talking with the members is always at the core of what we do.
Our sessions are five hours long (but you can volunteer for two hours or more) and consist of morning socialising & activity / lunch / afternoon socialising & activity. Once a month an outing is arranged, for example bowling, lunch out, Tropical World, Scarborough seaside, Blackpool Illuminations, animal farms.
You can commit to weekly sessions, every other week, once a month – with good communication and notice we can provide flexibility to suit.
Our sessions are:
Monday – Emley 10:00 – 15:00
Friday – Kirkburton 10:00 – 15:00
This is a regulated role, 2 character references are required and we provide a free DBS check if you don’t already have a current certificate.
Training and support is provided free, and expenses are included.
