WEBINAR Build Back Fairer: The role of anchor institutions – Views from Health & Care

Build Back Fairer: The essential role of anchor institutions in the North East & Yorkshire

The Health & Care Perspective

Wednesday 23rd June 11:00 – 13:00

We’re pleased to announce a series of thought-provoking events exploring the role of anchor institutions in tackling health inequalities.

This webinar will focus on anchor institutions in the North East, Yorkshire & Humber health and care sector, to describe the key principles of an anchor institution in this context, explore the policy background within which these core principles can be implemented, and see examples of how they can make a real difference for our communities.

It will be an opportunity to learn more about the work of the national Health Anchors Learning Network, discuss existing work across the region, explore opportunities for collaboration and collect thoughts on what would be most useful in supporting this agenda moving forwards.

Audience

This webinar is aimed at those working across the North East, Yorkshire and Humber’s health & social care sector and its partners. It is designed primarily for those who are involved in strategy and policy development and for people at delivery level.  People who are already undertaking work on anchor institution priorities and want to learn more, and also those who don’t have experience but who are interested in the potential of anchor institutions, will also find this webinar useful.

Speakers will include:

  • Chair – Deborah Harkins, Director of Public Health, Calderdale Council
  • Richard Stubbs, CEO of Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network and Vice-chair of the National AHSN Network
  • Professor Stephen Eames, Independent Chair and Lead, Humber Coast & Vale Health & Care Partnership
  • Sir James Mackey, Chief Executive, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
