For the last 2 years, TSL Kirklees has coordinated a menu of half-day, fully funded wellbeing experiences from local charitable organisations. This funding has now run out, but you can still fund sessions yourselves.

If you book an experience and would like to send us some comments or a case study (to noreen@tslkirklees.org.uk) or share something on social media (tag us and the organisation that ran your experience), we would love to hear how it went.

Arts, Crafts and Nature Based Activities
S2R Create Space
S2R is a local mental health and wellbeing charity, we provide a wide range of services across Kirklees, in communities, with communities.
We specialise in person-centred approaches, through creative and engaging intervention & prevention activities, to support development of personal resilience and aspirational achievement. We offer arts & craft opportunities, nature-based activities, physical and emotional wellness sessions both digitally and in-person, from our venue in central Huddersfield, as well as from a host of community locations across Kirklees.
Our services are open to anyone over the age of 14 looking to improve or maintain their wellbeing, meet new people, learn or share a skill. Age restrictions apply to some activities, it’s best to ask when you book. Find out more about our upcoming sessions here: www.s2r.org.uk/whats-on
Outdoor Pizza for Wellbeing – 2 hour session for up to 15 people
Join us for outdoor pizza making, practical skill sharing in the great outdoors. Learn how to make fresh, homemade, pizzas – from how to make the dough and sauce base to preparing toppings of your choice and cooking them in our wood fired pizza ovens. This activity can de delivered in the courtyard of our central Huddersfield Venue (S2R Create Space, 5 – 7 Brook St, Huddersfield HD1 1EB) or at a community greenspace (with appropriate permissions) such as our allotment in Birkby / Highfield Orchard, we’re more than happy to discuss alternative locations.
Wreath Making for Wellbeing – 2 hour session for up to 12 people
Come along and create your own seasonal wreath from scratch, using a mixture of fresh and dried natural, seasonal, foliage. Learn about how to forage for materials in a safe and sustainable way, develop a new creative skill and practice mindful making. This activity can be delivered at our central Huddersfield Venue (S2R Create Space, 5 – 7 Brook Street, Huddersfield HD1 1EB) or at an alternative venue of your choice in North or South Kirklees, get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss this with you.
Natural Decorations for Wellbeing – 2 hour session for up to 12 people
Try your hand at a number of different woodworking techniques including pyrography (wood burning) to make your own, unique, seasonal decorations. Learn about sustainable sourcing and upcycling and practice mindful making. This activity can be delivered at our central Huddersfield Venue (S2R Create Space, 5 – 7 Brook Street, Huddersfield HD1 1EB) or at an alternative venue of your choice in North or South Kirklees, get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss this with you.
